Glossybox - May 2012

This is my May Glossybox. For the price of $21 and the product for their first month, it was an ok bag for me. It was just an ok bag because  i dont expect a toothpaste in my box. On top of that, nail polish is not something i am crazy about but that's the whole idea. You subscribed to all these beauty box for the experience and trying out different things that you wouldn't think of trying.

Below are the description card
Well, i will do the review after i use those products.

Also i cancelled my subscription because of the price. I think it is too expensive and way out of my budget.

For more information, kindly visit www.glossybox.com.

The Look Bag - March 2012 Review

March Look Bag wasnt that bad.In fact out of the 6 items i received for that month, i like at 3 of the items.  As you can see, i only got 1 picture. This is because i got lazy and was busy with something else, so i dont bother to take an individual photo of the products. I was busying packing because i was moving from NY to CA. Big move for me and my husband.

1) Frownies Facial Patches
Apparently, this facial patches will help reduce wrinkles. So i tried it on my face. It said we should try to wear it to sleep. I cant go through it. It is just uncomfortable for me. Even though i am 30, i dont have wrinkles on my face. So this product doesnt do me any good. I used it for the sake of using it. Furthermore, i dont believe 1 treatment will give me any visible results.

2) Shea Terra Rose Hips Black Soap
Love  love and LOVE this Black Soap. Left my skin so smooth and soft. On top of that, i feel my face is much more cleaner and i look much more radiant everytime i use. This is a MUST have product.

3) SS Soap & Body Co Lavender Soap
Nothing really special about this soap to me. For me it is just a soap with Lavender smell. So, i guess i just love the scent.

4) GlamGlow Mud Mask
Another awesome item that i LOVE. With the stress of packing and cleaning the apartment, i am in serious need to nourish my skin/ face. GlamGlow Mud Mask came in handy for me. Had it on after i moved to CA last month. The Results : Soft, Smooth, Radiant, Clean and AWESOME skin. I think it tighten my skin too because i did felt my skin was tighten after the mask. Something i will want to buy once i get a job. $69 is a just a little high for me at the moment but i still think it is worths every penny.

5) Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil
I seriously have no idea about this brand or even heard such thing like Facial Oil. After doing some research,  found out this product suppose to promotes elasticity in the skin. Well, i did give it a try and it was alright for me. Maybe because i relatively have pretty good skin hence i dont see any different after using this product. It became sort of moisturizer for me instead. Especially at night, i would have a little of this facial oil and when i wake up the next morning, at least i dont feel my skin feeling dry. Guess, it helps in hydrating my skin.

6) Suki Intensive Nourishing Cream
First of all, i think the cream is a little too watery but this is not a bad product. I definitely like the smell of it. Again, i use this at night and it does nourish my skin because the next morning, i noticed my skin was more radiant and well hydrated. I like the product but dont think i will be buying it. It is too expensive for since currently i am not working.

Overall, this bag is quite good for me. For more information, kindly visit www.thelookstore.com

Vichy Box Review

I dont exactly remember when i received the Vichy Box but i got this when i subscribed to Birchbox few months ago. Before this, i never heard of this brand but i am open to try all the product they gave me. To be honest, they gave very good samples size that last me quite soometime.

1) Aqualia Termal Cream
Full size (1.7fl oz) $29.95

"24hr Hydrating Care, Infused with a high concentration of mineral-rich antioxidant water, this moisturizer keeps skin hydrated around the clock. Use it every morning on a clean face, alone or under make up."

Verdict: It is a good product that does keep my skin hydrate. None greasy. The only set back about this product is that this doent have spf. I only use this cream when i am at home whole day.
2) Lifactiv Rhamnose Night
Full size (1.7fl oz) $49.00

"Anti-Wrinkle + Firming Care. This lush night cream works its magic with Rhamnose, a plant-derived ingredient (concentrated at 5%) that helps skin renew itself. Apply a thin layer after washing your face, and don't forget your neck and decolletage"

Verdict: I love this night cream. The best i use so far. I have tried numerous night cream and this is the best. Every morning when i wake up, i just feel my skin is soft and healthy. I am not sure about the anti-wrinkle element because i dont have any wrinkle.

3) Purete Thermal 3-in-1 One Step Cleanser
Full size (6.7fl oz) $19.50

"A real triple threat, this unique formula works as cleansing milk, toning lotion and a make remover all at once. Dab it on with a cotton pad, or smooth it directly onto skin and rinse with water"

Verdict: This cleanser is awesome. IT does remove all the make up and it doesnt burn/hurt my eyes. Your skin will normall feel soft each time you use the product.

4) Purete Thermal Eye Make Remover for Sensitive Eyes
Full size (5.1fl oz) $16.50

"Laced with cornflower water and vitamin B, this uber-gentle formula thoroughly cleanses your delicate eye area. Pour a small amount onto a cotton pad and pat into skin"

Verdict: My favourite sample in the box. Definitely do the job and does not hurt my eyes at all. I wish the price is cheaper because this is kinda expensive for an eye make up remover for me.

5) Celludestock
Full size (6.7fl oz) $39.50

"Intensive Treament for the Appearance of Cellulite. Vichy's own Lipocidine complex team up with caffeine to tone the skin on your tights, hips, and derrier. Massage into your skin to zap cellulite"

Verdict: Maybe i got a serious and bad case of cellulite but this product just doesnt work for me.

Glam Bag - February 2012 Review

My first Glam Bag is the February bag. So with all the buzz in social media, i too signed  up for 1 year subscription with MyGlam.

 1) X Out Shine Control
" Stay flawless and shine free with this oil-free moisturizer with a mattifying complex"
Verdict: It was alright for me. It does do the job to keep my skin matte. Not a bad product at all.

 2) Nyx Roll On Shimmer
"Nyx's brand new, intensely rich, shimering powder that can be applied to the eyes, face, and body"
Verdict: I love this shimmer. The color is "RES14 Salmon". It is a shimmering brown/light bronze. It just help pop up my color and natural enough for me because i love natural make up.

3) Freeman Facial Mask - Goji Berry
"Soothing spa experience with easy-to- use skin-perfecting masks"
Verdict: Something i will keep buying. The mask left me with a radiant and smoother skin. The best part is that, this product is not expensive at all!

 4) Premier Dead Sea
"Luxury skincare rich in life-enhancing minerals from the Dead Sea waters"
Verdict: Facial serum (on the right) smells extremely good and a little goes a long way. I only use it at night before i go to sleep. That small sachet actually last me about 2 weeks. When i wake up the next morning, my skin doesnt feel tight.

Anti -Aging Complex Treatment Cream (on the left) was alright for me. I dont see any different on my skin. I dont think i will be ever buy this brand because it is very expensive. i do believe there will be other brands with cheaper price and will do and give the same benefits.

5) Nume Gift Certificate
"Enjoy $100 towards NuMe's products. Hair tools that will revolutionize your everyday look"
Verdict: Honestly, i don't count this as 1 item. On top of that, there are terms and condition in using this 'gift card'. So anything with conditions is not a gift card. It is merely a coupon.

6) Ghirardelli (Bonus Item)
Verdict: You can't do wrong with Ghirardelli chocolate. Both Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate is delicious. This is a bonus item since it is February and Valentine's Day.

The Look Bag - February 2012 Review

I know this is way overdue but better late then never right? Well i signed up with The Look Bag early February this year. For $10 per month, i think this is definitely worth the money i paid for.

 2) S.S Soap Co - Gingerbread Caffeinated Soap

"Beautiful Gingerbread scented soap with finely ground coffee and cocoa butter for a silky lather that moisturizes and exfoliates. Caffeine is a vasodilator which works to firm and tighten skin, plus it's full of antioxidants and helps diminish redness. "
Verdict: Honest i dont feel anything special besides the smell. It was just another soap for me with a gingerbread smell.

3) Obliphica Treatment Hair Mask

Small Member - $26.36
Large Non Member - $48.95

"Repair and nourishing for very dry and colored hair
Obliphica has an advanced formula for intensive treatment of very dry, colored hair.
The creamy texture of the mask penetrates hair structure and envelops it in softness.
Your hair looks shiny and healthy, and has a pleasant fragrance.
The Obliphica plant contains many vitamins (A,E,C,K), and oils (tea tree, olive, rosemary etc.), 18 amino acids, 11 trace minerals and naturally balanced omega 3,6,9 essential fatty acids that are crucial for a healthy scalp and hair.
It eliminates split ends and prevents graying, making the hair stonger.
The mask has been especially adapted for hard water users, being PH balancing.
Your hair stays soft, even after shampooing, drying and styling it!"

Verdict: I love this product. I used after i dyed my hair and it does restore my hair from dry to healthy. My hair was soft after using the hair mask.

4) Shadow Shields
(30 shields)
Non Member - $9.99

Verdict: It is a good product to have a clean make up but 30 shields for $10 is pretty expensive for me.

 5) Cailyn Eye Liner with 2 Eye Shadow
Non Member - $21.00
Member - $16.80
"Cailyn waterproof gel eyeliner offers perfectly smooth and glide lines."

Verdict: This is one of the best Gel Eye liner i used so far. the brush is need and a little goes a long long long way. You can even mix the eye shadow color to give you a different color eye liner. This is something every girl needs. The website doesnt come with the eye shadow color. The price are quoted only for the eye liner.

7) Jus D'Amour (LOVE)
Non Member -1/8oz $44, 1/4oz $64, 1/2oz $108
Member - 1/8oz $435.20, 1/4oz $51.20, 1/2oz $86.40
"A beautiful, grown-up comfort scent - and really, is there anyone who couldn’t use an extra dose of comfort right about now? Jus d’amour opens with coco palm sweet, but not cupcake-topping sweet. This is a dark and dusky coco palm, and there is a brief moment when it meets the mysterious and green aqualeaf accord that makes us wonder if we might be headed someplace edgy. Then the most soothing, enveloping woods appear, and it is clear that the place we are headed is the coziest chair in the room, complete with a cashmere throw. We can feel the knots in our neck begin to unwind, as creamy Tahitian vanilla wraps itself around mesmerizing sandalwood. Even the lilting violets and jasmine snuggle into the tranquil blend instead of floating above it. Sophisticated and serene, with a warm, soft sweetness that takes the edge off a stressful day. "

Verdict: I like the scent but this is not something i will buy. I am pretty much use back the same old brand i use since i was 15. I am not really a adventurous person when it comes to perfume.
